Nigerian singer, Oladipis fakes his death to promote new album
There has been controversy around a popular Nigerian singer, Oladipis, after he surfaced with a new album on Friday, November 17, 2023, just two days after his Instagram page announced his death.
The Daily Post, a popular Nigerian news website, reports that the afrobeat singer may have faked his death to promote his new album, Superhero Adugbo, which was released this Friday.
Qdot Alagbe, another renowned rapper, updated Oladips’ followers, who had sent tens of thousands of condolence messages, stating, “Oladips is alive.”
A popular Nigerian blog, ‘Gistlover’ shared the information. “Oladipis is not dead, man. Ola, please bring Moh with you.” Gistlover has been promoting an online campaign for justice for Mohbad, whose death has sparked controversy.
However, the Oladips’ management signed a death announcement that still lingered on his over 1.2 million-follower Instagram page when another message announcing his new album popped up.
The message announced the singer’s death on November 14, without stating the cause of death.
He has kept his battles within himself for over two years. He has now reunited with his family, and they will announce funeral services as soon as they conclude them! I read the message.

The popular Nigerian newspaper, Vanguard, reported the singer’s death and termed it “another tragic loss for the music industry.”
However, recent developments suggest that someone is still keeping the singer alive. Qdot, one of his fellow singers and friends, reportedly posted a picture of Oladips on Instagram with the message, “My gee @oladipsoflife is alive.”
